This is one of the most famous of all roses. It’s called Peace. Bred in France, its breeding stock was rescued from France and flown out on the last plane from France when Germany was advancing. Ended up in the USA. It’s called Peace because the day the war ended this rose won ‘International Rose of the Year’. There’s a book written about the making of this flower... anyone know it?
