  • Did you see my stories today? We finally finished transforming this $50 thrifted antique rack into my quilt cabinet. If you have been following along, you’ll remember that we took out several of the top shelves, and reused them as the drawer fronts for our new DIY coffee bar. Then I scrubbed and waxed the remaining shelves and we added a wallpapered backing. The total for everything came to $122! You can’t even buy a new fake wood cabinet for under $200 these days. And this is a super heavy, solid wood antique! I’m so in love with the end result and happy to have projects to fill our long days at home. What are you working on?   • To be honest, the quarantine doesn’t feel that different than my normal life. As a homeschooling mama, I pretty much stay home with the kids everyday during my slow season for photography anyway. I know right now, that things are scary for a lot of people and my thoughts and prayers are with so many. I think about people like grocery store workers. How selfless they are being simply showing up to work each day. For all the fearful news put out by the media, there is an equal number of heart warming stories of people that are helping. Helping their families, helping their neighbors, helping perfect strangers. Devastation has a way of bringing out the best of humanity, too. Personally, I’m just thankful I don’t have to go out anywhere. I love being home with my babies so much! And I’m still getting happy mail that I ordered before the outbreak. No credit, no loans, no debt. We’ve stuck to that, but it’s been hard. It means that we are 19 years into this thing and we’re still not finished! It means living with things half done.
