There is no room for judgement in my line of work. People are afraid to let someone come in and see inside their private spaces because most people are petrified of judgement. I’m uniquely qualified to do what I do because of what i've been through in my own life. No judgement is the DNA of my brand! 🧬 I can break down barriers because of my years of work in the recovery field. Whether I am stepping into a home or helping a friend who is going through the trauma of addiction, the link that holds us together is intimacy, privacy and no judgement zones. When I was doing my book tour. it was called the “I care without judgement tour,” and I must have handed out hundreds of my bracelets with those exact words written on them. I can remember writing my very first blog post 12 years ago with that exact title, and I still use those words for my business today. I’ve sold real estate for many years, had a decorating business on Cape Cod, have worked in film and TV production for years ... all of which I drew from when I decided to create this company... But I have to say that my work with mothers and families who are dealing with addiction is where I have drawn on my biggest strengths. When I step inside someone's home to help them get through a stressful situation, I know how to listen, comfort and guide people. Truth is everyone is going through something. There's no room for judgement from any of us!!!!! We need to meet people where they are and that’s the only way it works.

I use these on ALL my jobs — Space Saver Bags! @spacesaverbags I’m tellin’ you, these should be called “Life Savers.” Although, I believe that’s already taken… You wouldn’t believe how much space can be freed up by using these bags. #SpaceSaverBags

Never skimp on curb appeal — because, trust me, it matters! 🏡 For this project, I called in my good friend @tuckedinvt, who does magnificent landscape design. She told me to do one thing that would make a massive difference for curb appeal, and that was to take down the two big red prickly bushes that blocked a perfect view of the house from the street. After lots of weeding, trimming, and loads of mulch going down, we power washed the patio and walkways, cleaned the garage door, the shutters and the door — and presto! ✨ Swipe right to see the transformation. 👉

It’s a constant push and pull: “Do I take care of myself? Or do I take care of the house?” The secret to doing both is doing a *little bit* of both, *whenever* the chance presents itself. There is no, “Next week,” there’s only, “The next 15 minutes.”

Hoarding is more common than you might think, and it’s a problem that can sneak into your life over time. What’s the difference between being a hoarder or being a “keeper”? Which one are you? Just look around for an overabundance of household things. That should give you your first clue. 🔍

I went on a recent outing to my favorite nursery/farmers market @mangonesgardencenter this weekend to pick up some thank-you gifts for my clients.🎁 I came across this adorable little girl with her mother and asked permission to take her pic and use for my #feelingfall post. I felt so nostalgic, remembering how much I loved this time of year when my kids were little. So many fond memories are wrapped up in this season: frumpy sweaters, pumpkin and apple picking, starting to think about Halloween costumes... 👻 Most of all, Fall brings the family together, and family time is the best time -- don’t you think? 🎃

Life is full of surprises… 🔮 Who can honestly say they saw themselves working at home and teaching the kids all year? With that in mind, here are some pointers from my good friend and blogger, Cherie MClaughlin: ✨ Keep your house clean. Inhabiting the space with little ones is a recipe for stuff piling up. That’s why I highly recommend cleaning what you can, when you can. 📝 Learn to stay productive. The trick is to establish boundaries and keep them in place. 💻 Create a great environment. You are 100% influenced by your surroundings, so make sure they are conducive to your workflow. Head over to the link in my bio to read the rest of Cherie’s article. It’s packed with interesting ways to be a work from home/parenting superhero!

I love this quote because it’s true. You either get bitter or you get better. 👈 Life is full of curveballs, and nobody gets through it without some hardship. But in those moments, we have a choice. That’s the important part to remember! We can choose to build ourselves back up. 💙

I love bringing my husband on jobs with me because he’s always singing. 🎶 Well, he usually sings for the first half of the day, then I start to get on his nerves. Quite frankly, I start to get on my own nerves after a while, so I can't complain. Ever since I've known him, which is a VERY long time, he has always loved to sing, but usually sings the wrong words. This used to make us all nuts. 😩 I try to practice what I preach to my “client wives,'' and have learned to carefully choose my battles. He is the best, and as far as I'm concerned, he can sing whatever words he wants! But don’t tell him I said that! Shhhhhhh 😜
